About Vic Scavarda, Board Member

Mr. Scavarda represents Area 7 and his term expires in 2022.

Vic is a San Diego native who came to Idyllwild School in 1979 after teaching in Australia and Idaho. He retired in 2012 after 37 years of music and elementary classroom experience. Vic and his wife Alice have three children, all of whom graduated from HUSD schools. 

As a teacher and parent, Vic was actively involved in the Idyllwild and Hemet education and arts community, and volunteered over the years in the music, theater, visual arts and cross-country programs, as well as the Idyllwild 5-10K run.

 

In retirement, Vic continues to volunteer in HUSD schools and as a sound technician (with son Robert) for the Hemet Community Concert Association.

Interests:

Vic is an avid gardener. His interests also include music, travel, classic films, hiking, and he is a certified SCUBA diver. The rumor that he plays accordion is true, but he rarely performs in public.
