Gerardo Villarruel (“G”) is Tahquitz High School’s Sports Medicine Instructor and Athletic Trainer. Gerardo is well known on campus and respected by all of his peers and students. He is responsible for taking our Sports Medicine program to the next level. His program emphasizes the foundational principles of sports medicine, integrating health sciences with practical applications in athletic and physical activity environments. He has introduced cutting-edge, industry-standard equipment used by colleges, universities, and professional organizations. One of his favorite teaching tools is the Anatomage Table. The Anatomage 3D Table provides students with an interactive, life-sized digital platform for exploring human anatomy. It allows them to visualize and manipulate 3D models of the human body, offering detailed insights into various systems, structures, and organs. This tool enhances hands-on learning and helps students understand complex anatomical relationships in a realistic and engaging way.
In addition to his work in the classroom he is responsible for the care of Tahquitz athletes. When everyone goes home, he is still on site making sure all of our athletes are kept healthy. His hard work and commitment to Tahquitz High School has made him our pick for this District recognition.
Thank you for all you do G!
