On October 26th and 27th, a group of young women from our CTE First Responder class at Alessandro High School participated in the Hemet Fire Girls' Empowerment Camp. This event was sponsored by the Hemet Fire Department. It offered our students invaluable hands-on experience, exposing them to the physical and mental skills essential in firefighting. Throughout the camp, students trained alongside seasoned female firefighters who served as role models, sharing stories about their experiences in the firefighting career pathway.
Our young women embraced each challenge, building confidence and reinforcing their determination to make a difference in their community. They returned with a certificate of completion, symbolizing their hard work and growing interest in a potential firefighting career.
Special thanks to Alessandro High School, our Director of CTE Laura Gallardo, and the Hemet Fire Department for continuing to create and support opportunities like these that encourage and inspire our students—it's an honor to witness the continued growth and enthusiasm for our first responder pathway since it’s inaugural ribbon cutting ceremony just a couple of years ago at Alessandro HS.
