Winchester is highlighting and celebrating our Literacy Team for this week’s HUSD Staff Spotlight: Maria Mancillas - K-2 Literacy Teacher, Darlene Mercer - 3-5 Literacy Teacher, Sarah Guy - Literacy Specialist and Literacy Instructional Aides, Payden Searl, Calinda Hayes, Brandy Northern and Betsy Casas.
Our Literacy Team is being celebrated and highlighted because of the support they provide to our students. This team is highly trained in all aspects of literacy. Our literacy team provides solid intervention in ELA to struggling readers and assists teachers in implementing high-yielding instructional strategies. They are dedicated to increasing student achievement in English Language Arts and are committed to ensuring that they instill a love for reading in each scholar.
